Often, my wife and I like to make recordings on the pipe organs I maintain. Even though we have a home organ, you just can't duplicate the awesome ring andreverb in a large vaulted room with wooded pews - not for all the sound recording software in the world! Our recent session at Kent Trinity Lutheran was great. As we wrapped up for the night, their Organist joked that we 'owed her big time!' So, in part, in exchange for having the sanctuary available to us, we put together a small little program for a spring Sunday afternoon concert for the community. Hope you can join us!

Flute & Organ Concert

Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church
600 S. Water Street, Kent, Ohio

Organist Brian Ebie along with Flutist Laura Ebie will present a concert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent, Ohio.

The historic sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church houses a wonderful Berghaus organ and lovely stained-glass windows.

The program begins at 2:00 p.m. and will last just under an hour.  Spend an afternoon with beautiful works for flute and organ and solo organ, and enjoy the opportunity to hear one of the finest pipe organs in northern Ohio.

The program will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, John Stanley, Cécile Louise Stéphanie Chaminade, Jacques Berthier, Gaston Belier, and others.  Selections from across a broad spectrum of classical, sacred, hymn tunes, and folk/celtic music will be performed.

Trinity's Berghaus pipe organ is in the front of the sanctuary with pipes in two enclosed chambers and exposed.  It is a versatile instrument and excellent for church and concert use--with plenty of punch to fill the room with sound!  More information about the organ may be found here.

Laura Ebie is a graduate of the University of Arizona and studied flute at Brigham Young University and the University of Arizona.  She has performed with orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States, and has played in Carnegie Hall.

Brian Ebie has performed in Europe and the United States and has played the famous 206-rank Aeolian Skinner pipe organ at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He also is a skilled pipe organ technician and maintains many instruments in northern Ohio.

Upcoming:  Concert at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph, Ohio, Sunday, May 3, 2015
